DESIGNING VACUUM DRUM DRIER FOR BIOSORPTION OF HEAVY METALS

Rotary drum dryers are mostly used for dewatering purpose and drying purpose only. These rotary drums are hollow internally which rotates continuously on the common axis with suction pressure toward central duct. Our innovation lies in utilizing this concept for heavy metal removal from wastewater using natural biosorbent,  NEEM OIL CAKE(Azadirachta indica). This hollow drum is partially dipped in wastewater which needs to be treated. On the outer radius of drum we have made a coating of  neem oil cake(NOC). As the drum rotates  heavy metals present in wastewater will come in contact with the NOC Layer. Due to BIOSORPTION tendency of NOC heavy metals will strongly bind on NOC surface, According to data on sciencedirect.com ,the adsorption of Pb(II) was found to be maximum (98%) at pH 4 and the breakthrough capacities of Cu(II), Cd(II) and Pb(II) on NOC are found to be 10, 15 and 30 mg/g, respectively. Apart from this NEEM Components  possesses a wide spectrum of antibacterial action against Gram-negative and Gram-positive microorganisms, including M. tuberculosis and streptomycin resistant strains and will kill other water borne disease causing organism. So our this design is serving dual role 1- Heavy Metal removal in most eco-friendly way  2-Making water free from broad range of disease causing microbes.

“NEEM CONDOM”---A Perfect Herbal Contraceptive

NEEM oil is being tested as a contraceptive that can be injected or applied in the vagina. While the contraceptive effect of the injection is expected to last for as long as six months, the vaginal application is for use at the time of intercourse and is believed to be totally effective as it kills spermatozoa in 30 seconds.
My idea lies in preparing condoms with internal coating of neem oil. It kills the sperms by damaging the plasma membrane . The ability of neem oil to prevent the growth of various pathogens such as C. albicans (which is one of the most common causes of vaginitis) and other opportunistic vaginal pathogens such as E. coli, makes it highly desirable vaginal  as it maintains the vaginal health besides serving the purpose of contraception in human beings. They are non-irritating and easy to use while almost 100 percent effective. It's important to note, however, that even toxic spermicides are not 100 percent effective. When tested against human sperm neem extract (sodium nimbidinate) at 1000 mg was able to kill all sperm in just 5 minutes and required only 30 minutes at a 250 mg level.  They have the added benefit of preventing vaginal and sexually transmitted diseases.

Neem contains a number of healing compounds that lessen the chance of contracting or transmitting sexual diseases. Used in conjunction with condoms, neem can help to minimize the risk of dangerous diseases such as AIDS, herpes and the human papilloma virus (HPV). As an added benefit, neem oil safely acts as a lubricant soothing vaginal walls without danger of damaging latex condoms.
Since Neem tree is found throughout India and is easily available around us. We can start initiatives to promote research and development on this. Instead of going for harmful steroids as contraceptive, we can very well replace them with herbal contraceptive.

My experience in "Hyatt Regency Chennai"

I went along with my team mates for a group dinner at "Hyatt Regency Chennai". We all waited empty stomach since morning for this. Hyatt's ambience is really one of the best hotels I had visited. Obviously center of attraction for all of us was food. As all of us know Hyaat has very high standard due to its high class visitors, whose expectations are also very high. Now coming to point what striked my mind was the menu which was displayed below each food item. I saw lot of foreigners that i.e. Non-Indians who were visiting the food counter and were confused. They do not have any information about what actually is "Lal Mirchi Bharwa". Even being Indian I was confused with some of the food items , so it was pretty obvious for Non-Indian to have any knowledge about the dish. We must know basic things about the food which we are going to eat. Also we know few people in the world are allergic to some of the food items . So people eating should know basic constituents of the food. Also lot of people are very very sensitive about the calorific value of the food like how much carbohydrate, protein, cholestrol , suagar and salt the particular food item has.
Now we are done with problems, lets come to solution section- Hyatt can use electronic display for each food item. These electronic displays will be placed below each food item. I suggest it should be touch screen where people can get information like "About the Food","Constituents of the Food" and "Calorific value of the Food". It will greatly improve the customer experience and surely will provide the customer satisfaction. Cheap and very effective solution
